Multiple Venues
What are the hopes and dreams of our children? What is their vision for our future? A work about aspiration, unity and a collective voice, Fly Me Up To Where You Are begins with Auckland’s children and culminates in the heart of our city in a riot of colour.

Stunning film and photography are used to tell the story of the creation of thousands of dream-flags depicting Auckland children's hopes and dreams.

Artstation
A stunning video work at the crossroads of ancient myth-making and modern technologies created by filmmaker and artist Srinivas Krishna.
A monumental global project from renowned artist Santiago Sierra and two years in the making, Destroyed Word involved the construction of 10 giant letters across 10 nations, each built from a product economically vital to the country in which it was made.

Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts
Immaculately painted portraits by artist Bepen Bhana reimagine the much-loved characters of the iconic 1970s American sitcom The Brady Bunch, wearing Hindu bindis, tilaks and caste marks.

Mangere Arts Centre
Robin White and collaborator Ruha Fifita bring together customary forms and patterns of traditional Tongan culture, images from modern life, and the ideas and processes of contemporary art in their immense barkcloth painting installation.

Beautifully ethereal, Rules of Nature is a mesmerising interactive installation blending imagery and sounds from traditional Chinese artforms with new-media technology.

An exhibition by the Goethe-Institut introduces the work of 13 German comic artists spanning two generations – post-reunification avant-garde artists and young up-and-comers embracing new aesthetics and narrative perspectives.
St Paul Street Gallery
Curated by Dylan Horrocks, Nga Pakiwaituhi presents a diverse selection of work by some of the most powerful voices in contemporary New Zealand comic art – from established professionals to underground talents.
The energy and diversity of contemporary Pacific performance in the world’s biggest Pacific city is showcased in an exhibition and performance series from some of Auckland’s most exciting young artists.

Texturally rich and profoundly beautiful, Islanders surveys the work of New Zealand sculptor Jo Torr, who explores cultural exchange through the lens of costume and textile history.

Tā moko are representations of bloodlines etched onto the skin. Derek Lardelli, one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s finest tā moko artists, invites you to learn what lies between tā moko lines in this special event.

Rosebank is a unique project demonstrating the power of art to build and bind a community. Over 18 artists collaborate with the people and businesses of one of Auckland’s oldest communities, Avondale’s Rosebank Road, to share the stories interconnecting this distinctive place.
